Milestones

Yesterday marked Nolan's 8th week of extra-uterine life, and my 1456th. Does being 812 times older than my son make me feel old. Well, yes. It doesn't help that Susan got me a hair trimmer for my birthday that touted as one of its features the ability to tame unruly back and ear hair. She assures me that she only bought it because of my tendency to go 2-3 months between haircuts - it will help keep my neck and sideburns looking neat and trim. At least I'm not going bald.

I've been pretty bad at keeping this up to date. Hopefully as Nolan begins to sleep a little more predictably that will change. This installment contains photos over the last month. Our little star is getting pretty big, when I weighed him yesterday, he topped 13 pounds. Must be the genetically modified beef I've been feeding Susan.

Nolan rolled over from belly to back last week. As fate would have it, we were webcasting the event to my parents, so we have witnesses. If anyone else is interested in a live video feed of Nolan, let me know and I'll set it up. You'll need a broadband connection (Cable modem or DSL), and an account for MSN Messenger. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, but still want to find out if you qualify, drop me a line.

Here are the photos:

Grandma and Grandpa visited in the middle of February, when Nolan was 4 weeks old.

Nolan is excited about this year's elections. Power to the people.

Nolan is quite the ham now. He smiles and babbles a lot.

Greta loves playing with Nolan, even if Nolan doesn't realize he's playing with Greta.

She also is very tolerant, thank goodness.

Dierdre visited at the beginning of March. Nolan was 6 weeks old.

Sometimes he seems so big to me, other times....

He is much more responsive now. As long as he isn't in a terrible mood, I can usually get a smile.

Aunt Cindy visited last week, Nolan was 7 weeks old.

So big.

Greta ensures that the love is shared.
