No baby, no cry

Happy new year.

We're two days past due and still waiting. When I saw the weather report for this week (6-9 inches of snow and sub-zero windchills), I was sure this would be the week. According to our doctor, Susan has created such a good "environment" that the baby has no reason to leave, and isn't comprimised in the least. Nice work Susan.

So, while her mind wants nothing more than to evict this baby, her body has its own agenda. We and the doctor are reluctant to chemically induce labor, so we'll be holding out for nature until Monday, Jan 19 assuming Susan's "environment" remains hospitable. The latest weight estimate is 8lbs 3oz as of Wednesday the 7th. If we make it to the 19th, and the estimates are accurate, the birth weight would be about 9lbs. Here's hoping this weekend is the last one sans baby. Let the good times roll, maybe a trip to the riverboat casinos in Indiana are in order.

For those of you out there that insist on sending flowers on occasions such as these (and you should be no means feel obligated because of this message), our friends Shana and Allison own a flower shop here in Chicago. It's called Stems and you can reach them at (312) 243-4470 (http://www.stemschicago.com).

Hopefully, the next entry will be on Bacon's birthday.
